Basic specifications, packaging box design and more
The OnePlus Nord 2 leaked hours before OnePlus unveiled the Nord CE 5G. The new model will be faster, last longer on a single charge, and take better photos. Additionally, the phone would sport a new look that will resemble the higher-end OnePlus 9 Pro flagship. The new phone is slated to launch in July 2021 at a lower price than the original’s launch price. Also Read – Best Gaming Phones Under Rs 20,000 In August 2021: iQOO Z3, Poco X3 Pro, and More
Basically, the North 2 is getting major updates in areas where the Original North has received complaints. The main camera sensor is going to see a huge upgrade from the Sony IMX586 to the newer and more capable Sony IMX766 sensor. Also, instead of the four-camera setup, the Nord 2 will only have three cameras on the back. It seems that OnePlus has taken user feedback and reviews into account. OnePlus Nord 2 is fully disclosed
Based on information from 91Mobiles and OnLeaks, the Nord 2 gets the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip as an upgrade over last year’s Snapdragon 765G chip. It was already in the rumors as OnePlus will switch to MediaTek power for higher performance on the Nord series. There will be variations to choose from. The basic version will offer 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, while the high-end version will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The screen will continue to have a 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, but it will have a better screen-to-body ratio. In addition, the 32-megapixel front camera will be placed in a corner cutout – no more dual cameras for selfies.
The Nord 2 will also come with a 4,500mAh battery, which is larger than the Nord’s 4,115mAh unit. Unfortunately, there is no mention of charging speeds, but there is a possibility that OnePlus will keep the 30W Warp Charge solution due to the cost reduction.
Along with the improved 50-megapixel main camera, the Nord 2 will only feature two additional cameras this year. There will be an 8-megapixel sensor (likely for the ultra-wide camera) and a 2-megapixel sensor (likely a depth camera).
There is also a mention of the expected prices. Despite all the improvements, the Nord 2 should be cheaper than last year’s model. The basic version is expected to cost around 22,000 rupees, according to the report. It sounds amazing considering the Realme X7 Max with Dimensity 1200 chip starts at Rs 26,999 in India. Therefore, you can expect OnePlus to price the Nord 2 in the same territory.
